2014 the Avalon fleet was upgraded with the steel vessel Avalon 2, an excellent diving boat offering quality diving cruises to the pristine reefs of the gardens of  the queen archipelago marine park in Cuba. Currently she is the only ship on the fleet offering Nitrox service. The 125 feet Avalon 2 features 10 spacious cabins for up to 20 divers.

The facilities convey warmth and individuality and a balanced mixture of safety and comfort. The 4 decks offer plenty of room for the guests and even the most demanding divers will be satisfied on the Avalon II.

On the main deck in the rear area is an air-conditioned salon with plenty of natuarl light and comfortable sofas, an ideal place to read a good book or exchange experiences with other divers. The upper deck offers a spacious air-conditioned combined restaurant, bar and lounge room. Those who prefer the open air can eat in the outdoor restaurant - social area.

It is wonderful to glance at the sunset while enjoying the 500 gallon jacuzzi on the sun deck. The top deck offers a wonderful panoramic view and invate to relaxe on a sun lounger or read a book.

The cuisine includes a mixture of Italian and local Cuban menus served by the waiter. A selection of wines, spirits and cocktails contribute to pleasant evenings and a good mood on boad of Avalon 2.

All 10 cabins aboard the Avalon II are equipped with windows or porthole, individually adjustable air condition, reading lights, TV and DVD player, private bathroom with toilet / shower / towels / soap and life vests.

The 8 cabins on the main deck feature a big window, double bed and a single-bunk bed on the top of it. The 2 largest cabins in the lower deck are each has a porthole and 2 double beds.

In cabins and public areas both European and American flat-2 pin sockets (220 volts and 110 volts) are at disposal of the guests.

Avalon 2 is brings you to the best dive sites of the Caribbean in the Marine Park "the Gardens of the Queen" in Cuba. The untouched coral reefs offer magnificant diving with different shark species, sea turtles, huge snappers and groupers and the seasonal whale shark encounters.

Diving takes place with 2 dive tenders, each equipped with 2 x 150 HP Yemaya outboarders. Now Avalon 1 and 2 offer up to 4 dives daily and 2 night dives per diving safari, so you can count on a total of 20 dives per trip.

The spacious dive deck provides enough space and storage room for all diving gear. Furthermore the deck features a camera table for the photo- and videographers, rinse tanks and showers.

The Avalon 2 is the only dive boat of the Avalon Fleet offering Nitrox servie. Therefore the vessel is equipped with a Brownie NitroxMakerTM and cascade system (large intermediate tanks) which ensures fast filling of the tanks.

Cressi and Aqualung Rental gear and 12 liter (80 cu ft) Aluminium tanks with DIN/INT Valves are available on board.



Guests must arrive latest on friday night at Havana


Early morning at 3pm meeting point either at the central park or a previously announced hotel.  From here the 5 to 6 hour bus transfer to the port of Jucaro takes place. (Please ask for transfers from other cities).

At approx 9am takes place the 3 hour boat transfer from Jucaro to Gardens of the Queen (Jardines de la Reina). In the afternoon Avalon offers a boat ride through the mangrove channels or possibility to do the Check in dive.

Only cash payment in CUC are accepted on board of Avalon 2.  For exchange office we recommend to bring cash Euro (if you are from Europe), changing US Dollars is subject to an additional 10% fee.


All diving cruises start on Saturday and end on Friday. The divers must be at least one day before boat  in Havana, because the transfer on Saturday takes place very early in the morning around 4am. Meeting point is either in the Central Park of Havana or in a hotel after prior announcement.

Representatives of Avalon will pick up the guests and take them on a 5 to 6 hour bus ride to the port of Jucaro. The journey to the Gardens of the Queen takes approx. 3 hours.

Please note that also after the last trip date you should stay another night in Havana because you will be back late around 9pm from Jardines de la reina.
